Publishers Weekly gives it an enthusiastic thumbs up: “Sundin excels at well-researched historical detail...  with such accurate depictions of culture and setting that we are fully immersed in the times as well as in the story. About the Book

Goodreads | Amazon
Two hearts are about to learn the rhythm of love.

Bold, sophisticated, and coy, Army Air Force flight nurse Lt. Kay Jobson collects hearts wherever she flies, leaving men pining in airfields all across Europe. So how can ruggedly handsome C-47 pilot Lt. Roger Cooper be all but immune to her considerable charms? In fact, he seems to do everything he can to avoid her.

Still, as they cross the skies between Italy and southern France, evacuating the wounded and delivering paratroopers and supplies, every beat of their hearts draws them closer. Can they overcome the fears and misunderstandings of the past in order to take hold of the future?

Sarah Sundin seamlessly weaves together emotion, action, and sweet romance into a tale that transcends time and calls us to believe in the power of love.

Sarah Sundin always manages to stunningly capture aspects of World War II often overlooked by generic history textbooks. Her Wings of the Nightingale series provides a fascinating portrayal of the role of flight nurses in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations, vividly reliving the experience with unique and authentic characters. Now, this overarching storyline concludes perfectly in the series’ third novel, In Perfect Time, with an unexpected and stirring romance.

Since being introduced to Kay Jobson and Roger Cooper while reading With Every Letter and On Distant Shores, I was intrigued by both of them and wanted to know their individual stories (especially since they are both redheads). Both characters have distinct, determined character traits that drew my attention – Kay superficially and incorrigibly flirts with any man who looks her way, while Roger, though single, steers completely clear of fraternizing with any female – and finally In Perfect Time offers the answers to my questions and wonderings about them. Their burdensome, painful pasts come to light, and I wholeheartedly loved getting to know and understanding these two familiar characters better.

As Kay and Roger embark on their stubborn and heartwarming romance, Sundin fills their story with dramatic exploits, challenging decisions, inspiring reflections on forgiveness and redemption, and bits of lighthearted humor. It’s a fast-paced and engaging historical romance, and fans of the genre shouldn’t overlook it.  While reading, I was so hooked I didn’t want to stop until I reached the end, but then didn’t want to let any of the characters go. With the added peeks at the futures of the series’ previous couples, Mellie-Tom and Georgie-Hutch, In Perfect Time is a definitely satisfying conclusion. I recommend reading the entire Wings of the Nightingale series.
