The Devoted by Suzanne Woods Fisher

About the Book

Fan favorite Suzanne Woods Fisher offers readers tender romance, humor, and plenty of surprises.

Bright, curious, and restless, Ruthie Stoltzfus loves her family but is stuck in a sea of indecision about her future: Should she stay Amish? Or should she leave? She's done all she can to prepare to gopassed the GED, saved her moneybut she can't quite set her journey into motion.

Patrick Kelly is a young man on a journey of his own. He's come to Stoney Ridge to convert to the Amish and has given himself thirty days to learn the language, drive a buggy, and adapt to "everything Plain." Time, to Patrick, is of the essence. Every moment is to be cherished, especially the hours he spends with Ruthie, his Penn Dutch tutor.

Ruthie's next-door neighbor and cunning ex-boyfriend, Luke Schrock, is drawn to trouble like a moth to a flame. Rebellious, headstrong, defiant, Luke will do anything to win Ruthie back--"anything"and Patrick Kelly is getting in his way.

Bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher invites readers back to Stoney Ridge for a story of dreams deferred and hopes fulfilledcomplete with Fisher's signature twists that never fail to leave readers delighted.

Returning to Stoney Ridge for this third Bishop’s Family novel is a treat (as any fictional return to this community is). I love coming back to these familiar characters, full of flaws and faith, and exploring a new story with them.

In The Devoted, author Suzanne Woods Fisher tells a story of choices, infused with wisdom, humor, and plenty of emotion, and romance and drama abound page after page. As I read, the many ups and downs kept me emotionally invested until the last page, smiling and hoping and sighing, and I couldn’t help enjoying it.

Fans of Amish fiction will not be disappointed by this latest novel from Suzanne Woods Fisher. It’s an engaging and satisfying read worth adding to the reading list. (I do recommend reading the previous two, The Imposter and The Quieting, before The Devoted though.)

Thanks to Celebrate Lit, I received a copy of The Devoted and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.
