Take one abrasive professional athlete, a quirky out-of-work schoolteacher, and an overweight geriatric dog, and you're ready for a lesson in love…Tippy style.

Pro baseball pitcher Cal Crawford is not a dog guy. When he inherits his deceased mother's elderly dog, Tippy, he's quick to call on a pet-sitting service.

Gina isn't thrilled to be a dog sitter when her aspirations lie in the classroom. Furthermore, she can't abide the unfriendly Cal, a man with all the charm of a wet towel. But with no other prospects and a deep love for all things canine, she takes the job caring for Tippy.

As Gina travels through Cal's world with Tippy in tow, she begins to see Cal in a different light. Gina longs to show Cal the God-given blessings in his life that have nothing to do with baseball or fame. When her longing blooms into attraction, Gina does her best to suppress it. But Cal is falling in love with her too…

Discover the charming story of Tippy, the dog who brought a family together.

Tippy has a knack for winning hearts and defying expectations, as she brings a serious-minded baseball player and quirky, but heartbroken dog sitter a bit of necessary fun, adventure, and romance in Dana Mentink’s Sit Stay Love. No dog lover should miss this delightful read.

When star baseball pitcher Cal Crawford inherits Tippy from his mother, he has no desire to own a dog, especially one as old and droopy as Tippy, and hires Gina to take care of her. Both Cal and Gina still feel the lingering effects of past hurts and losses and see their futures with uncertainty, so naturally, their relationship begins with a rocky start. But a series of surprising and entertaining events quickly forms an endearing bond between Cal, Gina, and Tippy, of course.

With lessons to learn amongst Tippy’s quirky antics, the story is wholly charming, sweet, and sincere. Even not being a dog lover (much like Cal), I really enjoyed the heartwarming Sit Stay Love. It’s perfect for an afternoon of light reading, and I recommend it to readers looking for a cute contemporary read.
