My journey toward writing this book began with a simple but life-shaping truth: as 2 Timothy 3:16 reminds us, “All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” This means that nothing is wasted—not one phrase or sentence—for it says ALL Scripture. The same God who knows the exact number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30; Luke 12:7) also chose to place every verse in the Bible with intention. If He cares that deeply about the details of our lives, how much more should we care about the details of His Word?
Jesus Himself confirmed this in Matthew 4:4 when He said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Notice He didn’t say “some words” or “the important words”; He said every word. Our very life and spiritual nourishment depend on receiving the whole counsel of God.
That’s why this book is more than an academic exercise or a devotional guide. It’s the beginning of a lifelong calling: to walk slowly, carefully, and faithfully through the Scriptures, verse by verse, and to help others do the same. My hope is that this book will serve as a useful resource for pastors and scholars who seek depth, while also remaining accessible to everyday believers who simply long to know God more.
