Friends Carly Leighton and JD Moreno cannot deny their mutual attraction, but of course, neither is looking for romance right now. Carly has her adorable one-year-old son to consider, while JD is adjusting in like of life-changing health concerns. Still, as the story unfolds, their challenges push them together. Their friendship shines through it all—and perhaps, even proves that becoming more is exactly the right choice.

Visiting Sweetheart Ranch once again in Her Cowboy Sweetheart is a pleasure. The story between Carly and JD tends to be more serious and emotional than most I have read from Harlequin Heartwarming, yet Cathy McDavid makes sure it has some lightheartedness, too. Overall, the story’s elements work well to deliver a heartwarming read, and as I read, I found it to be an easy one to enjoy.
