MY REVIEW
Kate Taylor cannot imagine living anywhere but the charming, cozy town of Bayberry, Vermont. However, she may have to consider other options, if the business of her family’s candle company does not improve. When Wesley Adams arrives from New York to do an analysis, she worries that his recommendations will only hurt Bayberry—but maybe, with a little Christmas spirit, they can find the right solution.
Jennifer Faye’s Christmas in Bayberry is exactly what I expect from a Hallmark Christmas story: predictable, but also fun, cozy, and heartwarming. For me, it was a much-needed reprieve from the summer heat—and a couple oft-used tropes, too. I appreciated that Wes is not a cold-hearted, corporate Scrooge and rather, proves more than willing to both help Bayberry and enjoy the holiday festivities. It would have been easy, also, for Kate to immediately see Wes as her enemy, but instead, she strikes up a friendship with him, allowing the both of them to offer one another valuable insight from their individual perspectives.
So, it is easy to say that I enjoyed Christmas in Bayberry. I think it makes a delightful read; make space for it in your holiday-reading stack—or pick it up for a seasonal escape today.
