He pulled the dish towel from his shoulder and nodded to the pan of oatmeal on the stove. “If you’re hungry, there’s food ready for you. She’ll probably just get yogurt or fruit, I’m guessing. Hang on and I’ll grab a spoon for the oatmeal.”
“I can get one.” After having been here long enough, she’d learned where several drawers and cupboards were located, especially the ones containing utensils and bowls. “Does this one work?”
He turned to face her, and she second-guessed asking him. The space, or lack of, between the stove and island was not very much when there were two people standing there. And even with her heels, he was still much taller than her. Tall, lean, and devastatingly handsome. She may lack culinary skills, but she was ninety-nine percent sure that was a recipe for disaster.

Cleopatra Margot resides with her family and their golden retrievers in small town Nebraska. Inspiration for her novels comes from both real life + fictional storylines she dreams up. She was homeschooled alongside her two younger siblings, and she enjoys traveling with her family.
