about the book
An inheritance with strings attached…
Forces him to tie the knot.
Rancher Thatcher Dalton accidentally triggers a marriage requirement to his inheritance and now must find a wife in six months…or lose his farm. When widowed bookkeeper Bliss Anderson suddenly finds herself without a job, she knows that the adoption of her foster daughter, who has epilepsy, will be in jeopardy—unless she accepts Thatcher’s proposal of a marriage of convenience. As the platonic couple settle into married life and parenthood, they soon find that remaining just friends is harder than expected. But when a long-held family secret threatens their growing happiness, it’ll take a little girl’s Easter wish to turn them into a real family…

review
i am such a fan of the marriage-of-convenience trope, and a rancher for easter delivers a very sweet one.
to keep his ranch, thatcher dalton must marry within six months. when he finds out that bliss anderson lost her job, which jeopardizes her adoption of her foster daughter, it makes sense to offer a marriage of convenience, a win-win for both of them. they both enter the marriage platonically, determined by the hardships of their pasts to stay just friends. of course, that's easier said than done...
it's a sweet story of family—with all its complications. long-held secrets and lingering hurts, plus adoption, epilepsy, and a little girl (who desperately wants a couple siblings)... thatcher and bliss have a few challenges before them as they start their marriage, and that's not even taking into account the possibility of romance. i enjoyed following them through it all (juniper and coco are especially delightful, too), their faith keeping them more or less grounded despite the complicated around them.
it's a nice addition to the home to foxtail series—and is definitely seasonally appropriate with easter right around the corner. be sure to check it out for a quick, heartwarming contemporary-romance read.
considerations:
—language: none
—spice: kisses only
—faith: consistent christian themes and mentions
—content: epilepsy, foster care, adoption, mentions of loss of spouse and parent, incarceration, divorce, and infidelity
