another sweet romance in golden, georgia!

addie lane's using the inheritance from her father to open a fitness center. her late husband's best friend (and injured professional baseball player) nolan travers has some extra time and money on his hands and wants to help her get started. of course, while he's in town, he might as well help coach her son's baseball team, too... all this time together helps to strengthen the friendship they've had for years, but can something more happen when he still hopes to return to baseball and she's dealing with family drama on top of everything else?

the single mom's second chance is a fun, summery read—with plenty of baseball talk. addie and nolan definitely have their challenges, but i so enjoyed seeing them together throughout the book. the friends-to-more trope always makes me happy.

the surprise next door (book #1 in the series) establishes the complicated family dynamics that continue in this book. i would recommend reading them in order to best understand the relationships, but this book could be easily enjoyed on its own, too.
