a cute small-town, second-chance romance!

single mom sarah carmella has no interest in rehashing the past; she's moved on and would rather devote her time to her daughter and her ranch. her ex-husband pete o'keefe, however, has other plans. he's in town for a wedding and wants to make sure he clears the air before leaving town again...

it's sweet to see sarah and pete get a second chance in his ranch redemption. pete wants her forgiveness for how things went wrong between them in the past, and he's not afraid to work for it. there are hurts to heal—but there are also horses to help. sarah's been struggling to keep her ranch afloat, so between the wedding festivities, pete works alongside her to find financial stability, too. they're an enjoyable couple to follow, and it's easy to want the best for them. (of course, sarah's six-year-old daughter chloe makes a delightful addition to their dynamic.)
