With a little help, Carter’s Crossing could be a perfect romance destination. Wedding planner Mariah Van Delton has a plan to get the small town its much-needed publicity, and it involves a public Valentine’s Day proposal. Because she needs everything to go as planned, she arranges to be in a fake relationship—with veterinarian Nelson Carter, the man who happens to be her local enemy. They may not like each other, but for the good of the town, they can pretend to be in love—until all that pretending stirs up real feelings.
Kim Findlay’s A Valentine’s Proposal introduces readers to a charming little town through a delightful romance. As the plot to put Carter’s Crossing on the map unfolded, I enjoyed seeing Mariah and Nelson move from antagonists to friends and more. They provided me with plenty of entertainment (as well as some endearing moments), and I liked their story immensely. If you like the fake-relationship trope, like I do, make sure to check out this book.
