Cord had worked with each of them at one time or another, but he’d never had a gut-level reaction to seeing them enter a room.

Maybe that was his guilty conscience quaking in its boots.
He smoothed a hand over his beard, then up over his bald head as Canyon, Range, and Leif strode toward him with all the confidence and intensity of a pack of wolves prowling enemy territory. He inclined his head to the eldest of three who had lasered in on him.
“It’s been two days since she was taken,” Canyon stated flatly, his lips tight. "What do you know?”
