david "mac" mcpherson lost his family to the killer's 26 below cyberattack, and he's determined to prevent others from suffering that same fate—and maybe, for a little vengeance, too. doctor tracie hunter winds up in the midst of the chaos, as she helps mac recover from a gunshot—and becomes one of the killer's targets, too.
there's a lot happening at every turn in 70 north. mac and the rest of the cyber solutions team seems to be playing catch-up, trying to track the madman's movements through a series of "distractions" leading up to his final act of mass destruction. i knew he couldn't win in the end, but i was on the edge of my seat to see exactly how they would stop him.
the events of 70 north are especially unnerving, given the amount of technology now integral to daily life. it seems like, at the hands of the wrong person, everything really could come crumbling down...
i will say, though i enjoyed 70 north, there were times i missed some of the greater context. the alaskan cyber hunters is one of those series that should be read in order, and i didn't realize that when picking up 70 north. i'm sure my enjoyment of this book would have been even more had i read 26 below and 8 down first... so make sure to read this series in order!
