I sighed, looking up into the sky. If there was a Redeemer, he was cruel and did not deserve my devotion. Not after he had taken away my father with violent flames and left my family with ashes.

And left me with the scars of that night to remember my losses forever. I swallowed hard, trying to push my waring thoughts out of my mind.
