review
belle sinclair gets a not-so-fun holiday surprise when she comes home to find evidence of a break-in and her puppy missing. sheriff parker bishop is happy to help, even on his days off (much to belle's surprise, given all the tickets he's written for her). will finding the puppy together help them to also find each other in the process?
puppy love & snowflake kisses has all the potential be a cute holiday romance: a cute puppy, a law-abiding sheriff, a woman who likes to go a few miles over the speed limit... but it didn't really work for me. firstly, the pacing was a little off, since the mystery is solved three-quarters into the story and they just do christmassy things until the end (which is fun, but there just wasn't much drive to the plot at that point). secondly, there wasn't really a satisfying reason why it took them so long to get together. she was interested in him in high school, they live in a small town and presumably, have crossed paths many time in the last decade, but there's nothing that's been keeping them apart for the last decade, except that he gave her a couple speeding tickets? i just wanted a little more...
i may be a little too picky here, so if you are looking for a light, cute holiday romance with a bit of mystery, this could still be an enjoyable read for you.
considerations:
—language: none
—spice: kisses only
—faith: none
—content: breaking and entering, mention of loss of parents and a fatal car accident
