about the book

When a renowned crime podcaster vanishes without a trace, former FBI behavioral analysts turned private investigators River Ryland and Tony St. Clair are called upon to track her down. As they wade through the evidence she left behind, they unearth a startling connection–she may have discovered the existence of an unknown serial killer, and he will stop at nothing to carry out a deadly plan.

As the pair delves deeper, they soon find themselves the target of a relentless enemy determined to silence them. With their lives–and hearts–on the line, can they confront the evil that threatens them before it consumes them both?

USA Today bestselling author Nancy Mehl brings her Ryland & St. Clair series to an explosive close with a pulse-pounding story where the stakes are high and silence is deadly.

review

a satisfying conclusion to nancy mehl's ryland & st. clair series!

in this third book, river ryland and tony st. clair have quite the cold case to solve. a crime podcaster disappeared seven months ago, and now, her boyfriend thinks there's a chance she's still alive. of course, searching for her puts a target on their backs—can they figure out what happened to her before it's too late?

there's a lot going on in cold vengeance: the podcaster's disappearance, the cold cases she was working to solve, the killer that's been lurking in all three books—plus river's family drama and the growing feelings between river and tony. i enjoyed seeing all these pieces fit together (and finally getting some payoff for the romance that's been building for the whole series!). it all makes for a suspenseful read with plenty of heartwarming moments.

(as a side note, reading cold vengeance was fun simply because it's set in st. louis—like many of mehl's other books. it's not too common that i get to read a book with places i recognize, so it always makes me happy when that happens.)

i received a complimentary copy from the publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.
