six years ago, charlotte and austin failed to catch the presque killer; now, the pair has a second chance to stop him. a body is found that suggests the elusive serial killer is on the prowl again, and then, he confirms it when he kidnaps charlotte—and issues a challenge: find him within a week or she'll be one of his victims.
of course, amidst the threats and danger, romantic feelings must, too, be reckoned. charlotte and austin caught feelings the first time they partnered on the case—but their jobs (and failure) tore them apart. they have a second chance now to see if, maybe this time, they can lock down a future together, along with a serial killer, before time runs out.
it's a race against time in this quick read—and that makes it quite a fun read. even while assuming everything would be okay in the end, there are some tense moments, thanks to a devious killer. i would have like to see more present-time romantic development alongside the suspense (because i'm always here for a little more romance), but it does all make sense in the context.
all in all, hunted by a killer is a solid read. romantic-suspense readers could easily enjoy this one.
