police constable izzy tremblay can't help working to prove her father was murdered, but when she's attacked following a lead, she wakes up with missing memories and a definite need for protection. her old friend and ex-partner austin murray now runs a k-9 ranch, which seems like the perfect place to take refuge. still, danger continues to find her—can izzy and austin uncover the truth behind it all before it's too late?

it's a fast-paced and twisty romantic-suspense story from darlene l. turner. with a code to decrypt, well-trained dogs to keep the bad guys at bay, and a heroine with a perfect memory (minus a few hours), there are a lot of pieces to it that make it an interesting read. both izzy and austin, too, bring faith to the table in different ways, and it's great to see how that becomes incorporated with the mystery and suspense.

definitely an exciting read.
