after years away in the military, lacey nash has returned home to reconnect with her daughter, aspen. she's not sure how to be a mother, but when aspen wants to participate in the junior rodeo contest, it seems like the perfect opportunity for them to connect. of course, though, she'll need the help of cowboy caleb sloan...

lacey and caleb used to be the best of friends—but never anything more. now, both are hesitant to give love a chance, but they each may be just the person the other needs. there's something between them that's hard to deny...

a proposal for her cowboy is a heartwarming friends-to-more romance—with sweet meddling family members, unexpected matchmaking attempts, and dealing with the past. i had fun during my time with these characters and seeing the romance grow in natural ways. it's a story that's easy to enjoy and quick to read, and i'm sure that other contemporary-cowboy-romance readers will have fun, too.
