Top Ten Tuesday: Book Characters That Would Be Sitting at My Lunch Table

Hosted weekly by The Broke and the Bookish.

(Because this topic is in honor of the back-to-school season, I decided to only choose characters around high-school age.)

Owen Armstrong from Sarah Dessen's Just Listen. He's a solid guy. If I ever needed to take a break, we could just chill and listen to weird music.

Eleanor Douglas and Park Sheridan from Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor & Park. At a high-school lunch table, I think it's almost a requirement to have at least one couple. So why not these two? They're so cute together.

Tobias "Four" Eaton from Veronica Roth's Divergent. He's not always much of a conversationalist, but I like him and I think he would still be an interesting addition to the lunch table.

Princess Elizabeth from Robert Munsch's The Paper Bag Princess. She's awesome and independent. She could totally entertain us with epic stories.

Artemis Fowl from Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl. Oddly, he's always been one of those characters I would want to hang out with - especially after he develops a sense of humor.

Hazel Grace Lancaster from John Green's The Fault in Our Stars. She's so witty. We could have a great time at lunch.

Liesel Meminger from Markus Zusak's The Book Thief. I know she's a bit too young to be considered "high-school age," but I really want to include her in the list. She's sweet and loves books. Perfect for the lunch table.

Ron Weasley from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter. I just love love love him. He would be so much fun to have at the lunch table.

Adam Wilde from Gayle Forman's If I Stay. He's just cool - and he can sing and play guitar.

  1. LOL... Princess Elizabeth! Great choice. That's got to be one of my favourite Robert Munsch books.
