Honestly,
The Case of the Jewel Covered Cat Statues by Cindy Vincent was not a
good book for me. I tried really hard to enjoy it, since overall, Vincent’s
premise seemed promising with a fun and unique mystery and at times, the
mystery did entertain and intrigue me. However, I never felt truly engaged with
the story - and I think my problem mostly stemmed from two aspects of the book:
2. I felt several instances in the book talked down to me as the reader - and even seemed unnecessarily explanatory for the targeted middle-grade audience.
Yet, I
will say that although I personally did not particularly enjoy The Case of
the Jewel Covered Cat Statues, plenty of readers have. (If you are
interested in seeing other opinions, be sure to check out reviews here.) If you
are a cat lover, this may be a perfectly enjoyable book.
Thanks to LitFuse Publicity Group, I received a copy
of The Case of the Jewel Covered Cat Statues and the opportunity to
provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and
all the opinions I have expressed are my own.
