The competition takes a deadly turn when the celebrity suffers an allergic reaction. When Addie’s nemesis, Kennedy Graves is banned from the competition for using almond extract, Addie volunteers to prove Kennedy innocent. As Addie investigates the death, she learns each of the local bakers had a motive to dislike the celebrity. But did one of them kill him?
Meanwhile, hundred-year-old twins, Poppy and Marigold, keep Addie hopping, looking for their missing dogs.

Talia shot off a quick text to Regis. Her phone pinged with his reply. She read it, then raised her head. “The police believe it to be an accident. The public is not in any danger. But Kennedy is banned from the competition for breaking the rules.”
Oh, that’s too bad. If she can’t compete, she doesn’t even stand a chance to raise awareness for her bakery. She could lose everything.
“What’s your idea?”
Addie blinked. “Oh, you were listening. I’m going to figure out what happened to Mac Gordon.”
Talia’s jaw dropped. “I just told you it was an accident.”
“I don’t believe that. I think there’s something nefarious going on here.”
Talia chuckled. “You crack me up when you use words like nefarious. What do you think happened? Where are you going to start?”
Addie sat on one of the stools at the kitchen island. “I don’t know. Got any ideas?” She took a drink of iced tea.
“You should start with Kennedy Graves and that piece of cake.”
Addie spit her tea across the countertop. She caught the dribbles running down her chin in her hand, then grabbed a paper towel. She wiped her face and the island, then washed her hands. “Kennedy. Are you crazy?”
