It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #1

Hosted weekly by The Book Date.

Happy Monday!

I've been reading great books lately and I want to talk about them, so I decided that it's time to give a new post a try. Here, I'll highlight and discuss the books I've read, am reading, and hope to read, but won't be reviewing elsewhere on the blog.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK

Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate
Oh, I loved this book. Blending historical and contemporary fiction to tell a story about a horrifying aspect of U.S. history, this book is excellent.

Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly
A cute, quick Newbery-winning novel with great character diversity.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
Steamy and sweet, this debut novel is a great romance, and I really enjoyed it.

Listen to Your Heart by Kasie West
Such a fun YA romance involving a school podcast and some love-triangle drama.

The One You Really Want by Jill Mansell
A chick-lit romance involving a group of friends, lots of drama, and one of the funniest moments I've read in a Jill Mansell novel.

Peachy Flippin' Keen by Molly Harper
There's not much resolution to this novella since it's essentially an introduction for Ain't She a Peach, but it's still a fun catch-up with the McCreadys.
Received through Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Roomies by Christina Lauren
I love the relationship-of-convenience plot, so I enjoyed this romance immensely.

Summer Days and Summer Nights, edited by Stephanie Perkins
A fun, summery short story collection from YA authors. I loved a few of the stories and only hated one of them, so I liked the collection overall.

The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket
With this book being the seventh in A Series of Unfortunate Events, I had an idea of what to expect: the orphans go somewhere new, Count Olaf finds them, and something terrible happens. I wasn't disappointed.

WHAT I'M READING NOW

Ain't She a Peach by Molly Harper
The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket
Promised to the Crown by Aimie K. Runyan

WHAT I HOPE TO READ THIS WEEK

Flower by Elizabeth Craft & Shea Olsen
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
99 Days by Katie Cotugno
Peace Like a River by Leif Enger
