about the book

Forty-year-old Kate Landry's carefully planned life has become as messy as the powdered sugar on her famous beignets. Juggling the responsibilities of running her café, raising her teenage niece, and the emotional baggage from her breakup, Kate finds her world once again turned upside down when her first-ever crush, Micah Guidry, returns to town as the hunky local librarian.

As Kate struggles to implement her plans to expand her café amid the New Orleans Mardi Gras madness and the meddling of her conniving ex-fiancé, Micah becomes the unwitting hero of her misadventures, stirring up feelings she thought she'd long buried. How can falling in love in the Big Easy be this hard?

review

kate landry has a plan is a humorous, heartfelt story of what happens when plans should probably change... but it's not easy to let them.

when the building her late sister loved comes up for sale, kate thinks it's a sign to expand her business, even though the timing's not quite ideal. of course, in the midst of dealing with business plans, she has run-ins with her ex-fiancé and her childhood crush, along with complicated exchanges with her teenage niece and frustrating parents. she's struggling to keep it all together, but something has got to give...

kate is stubborn in holding tight to her plans and what she thought her life should be. change is certainly not easy, and i was glad to see how her community is able to support her through the chaos and challenges of her story to learn to let go and rely on God's timing.

micah guidry is a bright spot throughout the story. he provides some great humor, while coming back into kate's life with patience and charm. i enjoyed seeing him support kate (even when she thought she didn't need it) and develop their relationship amidst life's complications.

i really enjoyed kate landry has a plan. readers who want an older heroine, new orleans flair, humorous situations, and hopeful faith should definitely check it out.

i received a complimentary copy from the author. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.
