from the start, danger lurks at every turn of hidden mountain secrets. a masked assailant surprises brielle holt in her own antique shop, and luckily, her police-officer brother and his best friend, csi agent lucas scott come to her rescue. though he’s in town on his own investigation, lucas cannot help but want to protect brielle—which, of course, proves to be no easy task.

while staying alive and finding the truth behind all the attacks are the obvious priorities, this time spent together brings up old feelings—some romantic, some painful—giving them more with which to contend than just the present danger.

all in all, hidden mountain secrets is a fun, suspenseful story. i enjoyed following these characters through the many twists and turns—that were just shocking enough for the light weekend read i needed.
