It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #13

Hosted weekly by The Book Date.

Happy Monday!

My week was essentially work, homework, and watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Still, I managed to squeeze in some fun book adventures.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK

The Fortune Hunter by Daisy Goodwin
I despise love triangles and adulterous royals (I did know of both before starting this book), but I did enjoy the historical atmosphere Goodwin creates. Plus, I loved Charlotte Baird with her independence and interest in photography.

Ghosted by Rosie Walsh
A surprising mystery of a woman and the man she loves. The pacing felt a little strange, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Girl at War by Sara Nović
The history that haunts Ana was mostly new to me, and it was fascinating—heartbreaking and tragic, too—to see Croatia through the lens of her experience. A great story.

The Good Master by Kate Seredy
I enjoyed the antics of city-girl Kate and farm-boy Jancsi and explorations of life of a Hungarian farm.

People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks
An intriguing exploration of intertwined history and book preservation.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
I started reading Rebecca last year, but gave up after a few chapters because I wasn't in the mood for it. I'm glad I gave it a second chance—it's far more twisty than I could have guessed. Definitely an entertaining classic.

WHAT I'M READING NOW

Beginner's Luck by Kate Clayborn
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

WHAT I HOPE TO READ THIS WEEK

The Girl From Blind River by Gale Massey
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
The Last Equation of Isaac Severy by Nova Jacobs
The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obreht
