It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #5

Hosted weekly by The Book Date.

Happy Monday!

Ooh, it was an exhausting week. I stayed up too late on more than one night racing borrowed audiobook expiration dates—but I got a lot of reading done, so I'm okay with that.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK

The Carnivorous Carnival & The Slippery Slope by Lemony Snicket
More Series of Unfortunate Events stories. They're fun, but I'm glad to finally be nearing the end.

The Carousel Painter by Judith Miller
A sweet historical romance involving carousel painting.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
Whoa, family drama. I'm so ready for the movie now.

Dear Reader by Mary O'Connell
A very disappointing, pretentious YA contemporary retelling of Wuthering Heights. Plus, the phrase "dear reader" is annoyingly overused.

Falling Like Snowflakes, The Goodbye Bride & Just a Kiss by Denise Hunter
I LOVE this contemporary romance series, so I couldn't help indulging in a quick reread.

Head Over Heels by Jill Mansell
My least favorite of the Mansell books I've read. Too much cheating for me to enjoy it.

The Leaving by Tara Altebrando
An intriguing YA suspense story about a group of kids who return after disappearing eleven years ago.

Peace Like a River by Leif Enger
One of my favorite books of the week. I loved it.

Rebound by Noelle August
Exactly the kind of pick-me-up contemporary romance I needed to read after being disappointed by Dear Reader.

WHAT I'M READING NOW

Bounce by Noelle August
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Iron to Iron by Ryan Graudin
The Last Summer by Brandy Bruce

WHAT I HOPE TO READ THIS WEEK

Becoming the Talbot Sisters by Rachel Linden
Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
Fawkes by Nadine Brandes
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
