Happy Friday!
I'm racing library due dates with a few of my current reads, and Eyes on Me by Rachel Harris is one of them. Fingers crossed, I'll have time to finish it this weekend.
First Line: "Ms. Bailey, are you with us?"
From Page 56: Why couldn't she have put this much effort into our relationship when we'd actually had one?
ABOUT THE BOOK
Look up the word “nerd” and you’ll find Lily Bailey’s picture. She’s got one goal: first stop valedictorian, next stop Harvard. Until a stint in the hospital from too much stress lands her in the last place a klutz like her ever expected to be: salsa dance lessons.
Look up the word “popular” and you’ll find Stone Torres’s picture. His life seems perfect—star of the football team, small-town hero, lots of friends. But his family is struggling to make ends meet, so if pitching in at his mom's dance studio helps, he’ll do it.
When Lily’s dad offers Stone extra cash to volunteer as Lily’s permanent dance partner, he can’t refuse. But with each dip and turn, each moment her hand is in his, his side job starts to feel all too real. Lily shows Stone he's more than his impressive football stats, and he introduces her to a world outside of studying. But with the lines blurred, can their relationship survive the secret he's been hiding?
Now, feel free to leave a line from a book near you in the comments below.
And be sure to stop by Hoarding Books and Freda's Voice for a peek into other books.
Eyes on Me sounds like a good romance novel. I hope you enjoy it.

ReplyDeleteToday on my blog I am sharing the first line from A Christmas Haven by Cindy Woodsmall and Erin Woodsmall. It's a great Christmas novella that I am thoroughly enjoying. I'm currently on chapter 17, so I will share the first line from there.
"The sun hung low on the horizon as Arlen released twenty-four cows from the milking parlor into the pasture."
Hope you have a great weekend. Happy reading!
Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing the first lines from Where Dandelions Bloom by Tara Johnson: "Gabriel Avery hit the unforgiving pavement with a grunt."

Looks like the makings of a sweet read! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute cover! I’m currently reading You Belong With Me by Tari Faris. I’m on chapter 17 so I’ll share that first line here: ” Almost three months ago, she’d sat here confident she could fix this town, and now she didn’t even think she could fix her own life.” I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteToday on my blog I shared from Something Needs to Change by David Platt. Right now I'm about to start The Killing Tide by Dani Pettrey so I'll share the first line from that here: "Fire ripped through Finn's right shoulder, ricocheting down his arm." Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! My first line(s) is from "I Don’t Chase the Garbage Truck Down the Street in My Bathrobe Anymore!" by Dianne Barker:
ReplyDelete"Weddings make me laugh. It's that pledge to the spouse, "All my worldly good I thee endow." If my husband had only known!"
A dance studio setting! I will have to read this one for that reason. Of course, it sounds good all around as well. :-) I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI’m sharing from Aiming for Love by Mary Connealy on my blog today, so I’ll share the second line:
ReplyDelete“She smiled inside, but kept the emotion tucked away.”
Happy reading and have a great weekend!
I know the feeling of racing those library returns!
