The Land Beneath Us | First Line Friday + The Friday 56

First Line Friday is hosted weekly by Hoarding Books.
The Friday 56 is hosted weekly by Freda's Voice.

Happy Friday!

The final Paxton brother is headed for D-Day, and I cannot wait to see what turns his story will take in Sarah Sundin's third Sunrise at Normandy book. I have every intention of binge-reading the series very soon.

First Line: Most men woke in a cold sweat when they dreamed of their own deaths, but not Private Clay Paxton.

From Page 56: "My life was a pit. I was miserable. Then God gave me this dream and showed me the way out. Never once has it bothered me. It always brings peace, even joy."

ABOUT THE BOOK

In 1943, Private Clay Paxton trains hard with the US Army Rangers at Camp Forrest, Tennessee, determined to do his best in the upcoming Allied invasion of France. With his future stolen by his brothers' betrayal, Clay has only one thing to live for--fulfilling the recurring dream of his death.

Leah Jones works as a librarian at Camp Forrest, longing to rise above her orphanage upbringing and belong to the community, even as she uses her spare time to search for her real family--the baby sisters she was separated from so long ago.

After Clay saves Leah's life from a brutal attack, he saves her virtue with a marriage of convenience. When he ships out to train in England for D-day, their letters bind them together over the distance. But can a love strong enough to overcome death grow between them before Clay's recurring dream comes true?

Now, feel free to leave a line from a book near you in the comments below.
And be sure to stop by Hoarding Books and Freda's Voice for a peek into other books.

"The end came quickly, and there wasn't any pain."
Hope you have an excellent weekend! 🙂❤️📚

  7. This week on my blog I shared the first line from More Than We Remember by Christina Suzann Nelson but I'm currently reading The Fifth Avenue Story Society by Rachel Hauck so I'll share the first line from chapter 9: "The only thing worse than donning a rented tux on a Friday night so he could rub elbows with Manhattan's rich and infamous, was inviting a last-minute date." Hope you have a great weekend!

  8. Do you understand there's a 12 word sentence you can communicate to your partner... that will induce deep feelings of love and instinctual attraction to you deep within his heart?

Because deep inside these 12 words is a "secret signal" that fuels a man's instinct to love, please and guard you with all his heart...

12 Words That Trigger A Man's Desire Response

This instinct is so built-in to a man's brain that it will make him try harder than before to take care of you.

In fact, triggering this dominant instinct is absolutely mandatory to achieving the best ever relationship with your man that the second you send your man one of these "Secret Signals"...

...You will immediately notice him open his heart and mind to you in a way he haven't expressed before and he will identify you as the only woman in the galaxy who has ever truly fascinated him.
