It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #8

Hosted weekly by The Book Date.

Happy Monday!

I still can't believe it's August already... I had another fun week with familymore bowling and The Bachelorette, plus eating giant cinnamon rolls and seeing Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and Skyscraper—finished up my summer classes (woot woot!), and naturally, still read a bunch.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK

Georgia's fourteen-year-old personality was a little much for me. I think I would have enjoyed this book more had I read it twelve or so years ago.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Eh. Mostly, I'm just glad to have read another book from the Great American Read list.

Heart and Brain by Nick Seluk
A very cute comic collection.

Ink, Iron, and Glass by Gwendolyn Clare
A fun YA fantasy involving writing new worlds.

Our Kind of Cruelty by Araminta Hall
Ooh, this book was crazy. I was never entirely sure of what was true and what wasn't, and I loved it.

The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy
A very entertaining thriller involving a group of new mothers and a missing baby.

This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee
A fun, steampunk-y YA retelling of Frankenstein. Now, I need to go read that classic.

The Witches by Roald Dahl
A magical, whimsical adventure, just as I expect from Roald Dahl.

WHAT I'M READING NOW

I've been a little indecisive lately...

The Lawman's Secret Vow by Tara Randel
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
Ohio Brides by Cara C. Putman
Save the Date by Morgan Matson

WHAT I HOPE TO READ THIS WEEK

Beloved by Toni Morrison
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Finnish Line by Linda Gerber
Words on Bathroom Walls by Julia Walton

  1. Hi Hallie! Wow, what an impressive list of books! I am slightly jealous that you get to read so much. Ha. It literally takes me almost a year to finish a book. But no more of that! I am definitely adding a few of the YA titles to my TBR list that I will hopefully get to read in this century. Ha.

Check out what I am reading this Monday at Oh Hey! Books.

  7. My goodness, you DID read a ton! I'm interested in Mattson's, and I've had A Man Called Ove on my shelf for an embarrassingly long time without reading it. I'll be interested to see what you think of them!
