It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #7

Hosted weekly by The Book Date.

Happy Monday!

It's been a busy week for me. Having family in town has kept me socializing more than usual, but still, with bowling and The Bachelorette, pedicures and Thai food, I've had funand still had time for reading.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK

The Book of Essie by Meghan MacLean Weir
A contemporary-fiction story of a girl trying to escape her in-the-public-eye, religious family. Very interesting.

Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
A beautifully written historical story about a woman sentenced to death in Iceland.

The Grim Grotto by Lemony Snicket
I'm getting so close to finishing A Series of Unfortunate Events!

The Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle & The Hero's Guide to Being an Outlaw by Christopher Healy
So fun! An entertaining take on fairy tale adventure.

The Knowing by Sharon Cameron
A YA sci-fi/fantasy that takes the society of The Forgetting to the opposite extreme.

The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
I've been meaning to read this Newbery Medal winner for years, and I'm glad I finally did. It's a heartwarming animal story.

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
A YA Vikings story! I loved it.

The Summer List by Amy Mason Doan
A sweet story of two high-school friends reconnecting and remembering after years apart.
Won through Goodreads. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

WHAT I'M READING NOW

Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison
Counterfeit Cowboy by Lacy Williams
This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee

  4. I'm reading The Demon Race by Alexandria Warwick. I'm 20% in and so far I'm really liking it. I also hope to start an audiobook somewhere this week but I'm still deciding on which one.
