It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #10

Hosted weekly by The Book Date.

Happy Monday!

It's been a calm week with lots of reading, plus bowling, Bachelor in Paradise, and To All the Boys I've Loved Before, which is exactly what I needed before starting fall classes today.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK

The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare
A marriage-of-convenience historical romance. Very fun.

Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
So disappointing. This book has been on my TBR for years, but I did not enjoy it at all.

Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin
I expected this book to be different than it was, so it, too, was a bit disappointing. But since it's a classic that I read for a book club, I'm glad I finished it.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
A quick wilderness story I probably should have read years ago.

A Belarus-set novel similar to The Fault in Our Stars that I didn't enjoy quite as much as Green's.

The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
An intriguing, suspenseful story full of flashbacks, secrets, and questionable characters.

Secrets of Nanreath Hall by Alix Rickloff
A dual-perspective historical novel involving scandalous romance and family secrets.
Won through Goodreads. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

WHAT I'M READING NOW

Beginner's Luck by Kate Clayborn
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
Darkwater Secrets by Robin Caroll

WHAT I HOPE TO READ THIS WEEK

I'm participating in the Bout of Books readathon this week, so I posted my TBR here. Anyone else planning to participate?

  3. I'm sorry the Four book was so disappointing, but thank you- I had it in my TBR but am now crossing it off!

I'm ready for a psychological thriller so am going to try The Last Time I Lied.

My week is not starting off well- I'm DNFing the book I started yesterday. I'm moving onto something I hope is lighter and funnier, French Exit.
